What is Triumph Thruxton 400?
The Thruxton 400, the newest bike in the Triumph Thruxton series, is a smaller and more affordable variant of the company's Thruxton 1200. This bike is a beautiful mix of retro and modern. With a classic cafe racer look, this bike is comfortable to drive both in the city and on the highway.
Design and Looks: Retro Tadka
The design of the Thruxton 400 is quite attractive and classic. Its circular headlamp, flat seat, and clean panels give it the perfect cafe racer style.
The bike has spoke wheels on both the front and rear, which give it a vintage touch. Its dual chrome exhaust pipes also enhance its retro style.
Engine and performance: Powerful but under control
The Triumph Thruxton 400 is powered by a 397cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. This engine generates about 27 horsepower and 32 Newton-meters of torque.
This power is enough to easily get through the traffic in the city and also cruise comfortably on the highway. The 5-speed gearbox makes it smooth and responsive.
Suspension and braking: Emphasis on safety and comfort
The bike has telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear, which help in absorbing the bad roads and shocks of the city well.
For safety, disc brakes are fitted in both front and rear. ABS option will also be available, which makes braking better and safer.
Features and connectivity: As per requirement
The Thruxton 400 has a digital-analog mixed instrument cluster, which includes speedometer, tachometer, odometer and fuel gauge.
This bike also gives necessary modern features along with retro look, making it perfect for daily needs.
Price and availability
Triumph has launched the Thruxton 400 in India at an estimated price of around ₹ 4.5 lakh (ex-showroom). This price brings it into the premium cafe racer segment.
This bike will be available at select Triumph showrooms.
