The all-electric Tata Harrier EV has created a buzz in the Indian market by breaking booking records, resulting in a waiting period of up to 6 months across major cities.
On 26 July 2025, Tata Harrier EV took the Indian electric vehicle market by storm. More than 10,000 bookings were registered in the first 24 hours of its launch. Its powerful features, long range and competitive prices have made this SUV a segment leader. But, this bumper demand has affected its delivery timeline, due to which customers may have to wait up to 6 months. Bookings for the Tata Harrier EV started on 2 July 2025 and 10,000 units were booked within 24 hours. Due to its rising demand, the waiting period has reached 12 to 30 weeks. Deliveries vary depending on the variant – the top-end Empowered 75kWh variant is getting delivered in 12–15 weeks, while the entry-level Adventure 65kWh variant has a wait of 28–30 weeks. This long waiting period reflects the growing demand for premium electric SUVs in India. Tata Motors is now ramping up production to minimise delivery delays.

Performance and battery options: Strong range and power
The Tata Harrier EV comes with two battery options – 65 kWh and 75 kWh. The 65 kWh variant offers a range of 538 km, while the 75 kWh variant can go up to 627 km. Both batteries have received IP67 rating and are equipped with liquid-cooled system. The RWD variant offers 238 PS of power and 315 Nm of torque, while the AWD variant has a dual motor setup that delivers 504 Nm of torque. This SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds in Boost Mode. Apart from this, multiple driving modes like Eco, City, Sport, Normal, Wet and Rough have also been given in it, which make it suitable for every road.
Advanced Features and Technology: A Combination of Modernity
The Tata Harrier EV is full of high-tech features. It features a 14.5-inch Neo QLED infotainment screen, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, JBL Dolby Atmos audio system, OTA update support, 540° camera view, voice assist, iRA connected car technology and ADAS features. The SUV also features advanced off-roading features like Summon Mode, Boost Mode, Rock Crawl Mode and Custom Terrain Settings. Its tech-friendly nature is making it very popular among young customers.
Price and competition: Tough competitors
The Tata Harrier EV starts at ₹ 21.49 lakh ex-showroom and goes up to ₹ 30.23 lakh. It competes directly with the BYD Atto 3 and Mahindra XUV 9e. While BYD is known for its Chinese battery technology and the XUV 9e for its safety and ADAS features, the Tata Harrier EV surpasses them in terms of features, performance and design fit for Indian roads. Brand trust and affordable price make it a perfect package.
