Renault India has officially announced the relaunch of the Duster SUV in the Indian automobile market. This vehicle, which will be known as the new Renault Duster, will make its comeback in India on January 26th. First launched in 2012, the Duster was quite popular among Indian customers, but it was later discontinued. Now, Renault is bringing it back to the country, and preparations for its launch are underway. They have released a new teaser for this new-generation Renault Duster, showcasing the SUV with impressive and powerful features.
Teaser Reveals India-Specific Design Touches
Before the Renault Duster launches on January 26th, let me tell you what we saw in the teaser. The teaser image revealed the shape of the LED DRLs and much more. It shows connected taillamps, which were not present in the global-spec Dacia or the older Duster. This SUV hints at additional design elements that are expected to be unique to the Indian market.
Renault Bets Big on Duster’s Return
This could prove to be Renault's most important vehicle for the Indian market. It marks the return of an iconic nameplate, and Renault is hoping to capitalize on this, especially after the recent buzz surrounding the new Sierra's comeback.

Nissan Tecton to Share Duster Platform
It is also reported that a new model from Nissan, named Tecton, will be based on the Duster platform. It will be manufactured at the Alliance factory outside Chennai for both the domestic and export markets. Along with the Renault Duster and Tecton, a related three-row SUV from the automaker is also expected to arrive in early 2027, completing the automaker's lineup.
