Nissan Gravite India Launch: Seating, Interiors, Design & Key Features Previewed

Nissan is all set with the Gravite MPV. Launch in India? February 17, 2026. Latest teaser shows it being tested on highways, some remote roads, even water wading. And honestly, it looks serious. Built on Renault Triber’s platform, but Nissan is adding lots of local parts Price friendly, Family friendly, Straight up.

Exterior Design and Styling

The Gravite’s shape? Boxy. Upright. You can’t miss it in traffic. Front gets sharper face, signature C-shaped LED DRLs, bigger grille, slightly chunky bumper. Roof rails, alloys, body cladding all there. Rear side, wraparound LEDs, faux skid plate, small rugged vibe. Funny thing, I remember the Triber’s rear looked so plain, people complained. Here, Nissan tries to give some personality. Kind of works.

Seating and Cabin Layout

Seven seats. Flat floor. Second row slides, reclines. Third row? Only kids or short trips. Don’t expect miracles. Foldable rear seats make life easier more luggage one day, more passengers next. I once saw a client complaining about a cramped third row in another MPV, and laughed thinking Yep, same story repeats.

Interior Highlights

Inside is modern, but simple. Digital instrument display, touchscreen infotainment with wireless phone connection, automatic AC, rear vents for all rows, keyless entry, push-button start, cruise control, steering-mounted buttons, plenty of storage. Higher trims might throw in 360-degree camera, wireless charging, connected tech. Personal note back in 2019, I tested an SUV where infotainment froze mid-drive. Could happen here too. Not a dealbreaker, just small hiccups.

Safety and Performance

Safety equipment appears solid 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, balance manipulate, hill-hold, tyre stress monitor. Engine is the familiar 1.0-litre petrol, each NA and rapid versions. Transmission? 5-speed manual, AMT. Rumors of factory CNG option later. From experience, city and highway drives will be fine, but turbo feel and real mileage? We’ll see. Always tricky in real world.

Price and Market Position

Gravite aims at entry and mid-level Maruti Ertiga variants. Expected price Rs. 5.8 – 8.4 lakh ex-showroom. Deliveries maybe start March 2026. My take? Space and comfort will matter most. Brand trust too. Features and styling look good enough. But real test? On the road, everyday life. That’s where it’ll win or lose.
