Under the hood, it’s got a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine. 215.5 PS. 478.5 Nm. 8-speed auto. Sounds serious, right? And it is. MG will sell it in Sharp and Savvy trims, with the Savvy getting optional on-demand 4×4. Now, I’ve done a quick run on the highway. The power hits you, but slowly. Not the kind of punch you expect in city crawling. Just my experience though.
Funny story test driving in Hyderabad, I floored it on an empty stretch. The SUV leapt forward, but throttle felt a bit lazy at mid-range. Dealer said software tweak coming. Okay, fine. But yeah, city drive vs highway drive experience? Big difference.
2. Superb Off-Road Capability
Now here’s something exciting. Majestor isn’t just about looking big and shiny. Three diff locks. Ten terrain modes. Crawl mode. Wading depth 810 mm. You can almost imagine splashing through muddy roads without a second thought. Makes you think Fortuner, watch your back.
Still, I haven’t taken it for hardcore off-road. But once, at a monsoon-drenched street in Jaipur, it just plowed through. Smooth. Confident. No drama. That moment made me smile. This is where the SUV shines.
3. Level 2 ADAS
MG went heavy on safety. Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning & Prevention, Lane Change Assist, Lane Keep Assist you name it. 360º camera, heated mirrors, six airbags, driver fatigue alert. It’s packed.
But, here’s the thing. Sometimes these systems overreact. I was crawling in traffic and the ACC nudged brakes for no reason. A bit annoying. Story of tech these days, I guess.
4. Elevated Comfort
Step inside, and it feels premium. Front seats with 8-point massage, ventilated. Driver seat 12-way, memory. Passenger 8-way. Three-zone climate control. On a long highway drive, I actually dozed off a little thanks to the massage. No kidding. That’s the kind of comfort you notice when real roads test you.
5. Advanced Tech
Tech freaks, this one’s for you. 12.3-inch virtual cluster, column-established gear shifter (frees area in the console), dual wi-fi smartphone chargers, 64-colour ambient lights, JBL 12-speaker system Looks fancy. Sounds fancy. Feels fancy. But MG, seriously, only one USB Type-C? In 2026? Three Type-A’s won’t cut it for most people.

Bottom Line
Majestor? It’s powerful. Loaded. Comfortable. And yes, it makes a statement on Indian roads. But not perfect. ADAS quirks, city throttle feels lazy, USB situation meh. Still, if you want a premium SUV with style, tech, and muscle this one deserves a hard look. Test drive. Judge it yourself. That’s the real deal.
