The first time I looked at the new Lexus LS, honestly I felt a bit underwhelmed. Lexus keeps pushing this whole “silent luxury” philosophy, and from the outside, the LS almost feels too calm. But the second you grab the door handle and slip inside, the tone flips. This car doesn’t shout. It just quietly tells you, “Relax, I’ve got you.”
And yes, one more thing the LS isn’t made for people who chase the raw thrill of a BMW 7 Series. Its vibe is totally different. It’s the kind of car that says “I don’t need attention. I already have presence.”
Design: calm from the outside, a whole different story inside
From the outside, the LS doesn’t try too hard. The big spindle grille is still there, but the new design feels slightly toned down. Sharp headlamps, clean lines, and a matured stance. Many people say the LS looks underplayed maybe true.

I’m reminded of a moment in a Gurgaon dealership years ago. I was checking out the older LS when an older gentleman walked up and said, “Beautiful car just doesn’t scream for attention.” The new one carries the same DNA, just more refined and polished now.
Cabin this is where Lexus starts showing its true game
To be very straight, Lexus cabins always make me emotional. Their craftsmanship sits a notch above everyone else. Same story here. The leather smell hits differently. Every stitch, every button, every trim feels hand-finished.

But, everything is not perfect. The infotainment system is quick but unnecessarily complicated. Classic Japanese thing they overthink small details. You get the feeling that someone engineered the menus the way a puzzle is designed.
Engine & performance: claims are big, real-world is softer
Lexus says this hybrid powertrain is super refined. And yes, it is. The car moves like butter. But when you press the accelerator hard, the car responds with a “chill, take it easy” attitude. It’s not that sedan you’ll blast at 160+ on the expressway.

I still remember trying to push the older LS on the Hyderabad airport road. Engine was calm, but the car clearly whispered, This isn’t my style. The new LS carries the same personality even smoother now, but still relaxed at heart.
Ride quality: feels like you're floating on a mattress
Sitting in the LS feels like the road has disappeared. The air suspension is brilliant, absorbing everything quietly. But sometimes, this softness brings a slightly floaty feel which is why enthusiasts don’t call the LS a driver’s car. It’s more like a “just sit back and sink into comfort” car.

Features: everything is there but that modern spark is missing
Massage seats, semi-autonomous assist, rear-seat ottoman, insanely good sound insulation everything is present. But the UI on the screen feels a little dated. Voice commands also have mood swings sometimes.
There’s no German-style show-off tech. The LS has a very calm personality even in its features.
Cons the brand will never admit
The hybrid powertrain gets confused when you drive it aggressively.
The infotainment layout feels slightly old-school.
Resale value Lexus fans already know this pain.
Service network still isn’t at Mercedes/BMW levels, no matter what brochures claim.
Should you buy the new Lexus LS?
Honestly: If you want luxury that doesn’t scream, doesn’t show off, and just quietly impresses the LS is perfect. This car isn’t built for thrill-seekers For me, the LS is a “peace of mind” product. The moment you sit inside, the outside world melts away. The silence, the comfort, the smooth hybrid system everything works toward calming you down.
