Maruti XL6 Now Safer with 6 Airbags – Price Increased

Maruti Suzuki is working hard to make its cars safer, and we can see this with their latest updates. The Maruti XL6, which is a premium MPV (more luxurious than the Ertiga), has now been upgraded with 6 airbags as standard in all its variants. However, this safety upgrade comes with a small price increase.

What’s New in the Maruti XL6?

The Maruti XL6 is a more stylish and feature-packed version of the Ertiga. Recently, the Ertiga also got 6 airbags, and now, the XL6 follows the same trend. Earlier, the XL6 had only 4 airbags (two front airbags and two side airbags). But now, Maruti has added two curtain airbags, making it a total of 6 airbags for better safety.

Price Increase – How Much More Will It Cost?

With this update, the price of the XL6 has gone up by 0.8%. Earlier, the XL6 was priced between ₹11.84 lakh to ₹14.84 lakh (ex-showroom). Now, the price will increase by around ₹10,000 to ₹12,000, depending on the variant you choose.

Other Safety Features in the XL6

Apart from the 6 airbags, the XL6 comes with many other safety features, such as:

• ABS with EBD (helps in better braking)

• ESC (Electronic Stability Control – prevents skidding)

• Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (alerts you if tyre pressure is low)

• 360-Degree Camera (helps in parking and tight spaces)

• ISOFIX Child Seat Mounts (keeps child seats secure)

• Rear Wiper with Washer (improves visibility in rain)

No Changes in Engine – Same Powerful Performance

The engine of the XL6 remains the same. It still has a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a mild-hybrid system, which gives 103 PS power and 139 Nm torque. There is also a CNG option, but it produces slightly less power (88 PS and 121.5 Nm).

Why is the 6 Airbag Update Important?

The XL6 is a big MPV, and having 6 airbags makes it much safer for families. Earlier, it scored a 3-star safety rating in Global NCAP tests, but with the extra airbags, it could perform even better in crash tests.

Safety should always be a top priority when buying a car. Many cars in India still offer only 2 airbags, but Maruti is slowly making 6 airbags standard in its models, which is a great move.
