Mahindra XUV 3XO Bold, Fun, and Unpredictable SUV Experience

Honestly, the first time I laid eyes on Mahindra XUV 3XO, I felt a mix of excitement and curiosity. The design screams confidence, bold without being over the top. From my 10 years in the auto industry, I can say Mahindra always tries to add a bit of edge to their SUVs, and this one is no exception.

Exterior Impressions

The XUV 3XO’s exterior is quite aggressive. That front grille, the sharp headlamps, it’s in-your-face, for sure. But here’s a little insider note: during a test drive at a dealership, I noticed the plastic cladding scratched more easily than I expected. One of the staff straight up said,  It happens, but it can impact the overall look. True enough.

The roofline and alloys give off a youthful vibe. Still, my experience tells me that people usually notice cabin space and practicality first. And the rear seats? A little tight for taller passengers, nothing major but noticeable if you often carry 3-4 adults in the back.

Performance and Driving Experience

Talking driving, Mahindra claims this SUV is quick and powerful. I’ve seen similar claims before with other XUVs promising 500 km range, but real-world numbers were closer to 380-400 km. Expect a similar scenario here. City and highway driving feel confident; acceleration is decent, but long trips require planning for charging stops.

Steering and handling are sharp enough for city corners, though the suspension is on the firmer side. On rough roads, you’ll feel bumps more than in softer-riding SUVs. My experience is that it’s a safe but firm ride, which might not appeal to comfort-focused buyers.

Interior Feel

Sitting inside, the XUV 3XO feels functional and reasonably comfortable. Seats are supportive, materials feel decent, and the tech mix is modern enough. But here’s a story from my own experience: during a software update for the infotainment system, a bug caused the screen to freeze, and only a restart fixed it. It was a minor hiccup, but it reminded me that connected tech isn’t flawless yet.

The dashboard layout seems a bit cluttered at first glance, but you get used to it after a few drives. In my opinion, Mahindra has tried to strike a balance between style and practicality, but it doesn't quite work.Some small compromises are visible, especially if you’re picky about ergonomics or cabin storage.
 

Tech and Software Insights

The infotainment and connected features are modern, smartphone integration, AI-based assists, all that. But from past experience, EV software can be quirky at times. Another little anecdote: during a demo drive, the system froze for a few minutes, and the tech team had to fix it on the spot. So yes, it’s promising tech, but not flawless.
 

My Takeaway

Simply put, the Mahindra XUV 3XO is a confident, stylish SUV that tries to combine tech, performance, and design. There are compromises, firm ride, software quirks, slightly tight rear space, but none of them are deal-breakers if expectations are managed. Test drive first, experience second, then decide.

For me, XUV 3XO is fun, slightly unpredictable, and has personality. Mahindra’s attempt to create a youthful, tech-savvy SUV is noticeable. If you love bold styling and don’t mind minor trade-offs, this SUV will likely click with you. My personal verdict is that it’s more than just a car; it’s an experience.
