Mahindra Thar Roxx Star Edition Unveiled Bold Blacked-Out Look, Citrine Yellow & Key Upgrades
Bold blacked-out styling, new Citrine Yellow colour, and key upgrades make the Star Edition a standout on the road.
Mahindra finally unveiled the Thar Roxx Star Edition. And let me tell you it hits hard. Priced at ₹16.85 lakh (ex-showroom), this one is only on the top-spec AX7 Luxury variant. Styling? Straight up, it’s attention grabbing. You see it, you feel it.
Glossy Black Finish Aggressive and Sharp
The biggest change? Full Glossy Black finish. Yeah, grilles, wheels, even small trims all blacked out. It merges with the body colour so well. There’s also a Star Edition badge on the C-pillar. Nice touch. I remember walking past the showroom, stopped dead, thinking This one’s got attitude. Bold. Flashy. But yeah, black cars show scratches easily. Always a trade-off.
Citrine Yellow Fun and Unique
And then there’s the new Citrine Yellow. Bright, refreshing. Not your usual SUV colour. Buyers who want to feel special this is for you. Star Edition now comes in Tango Red, Citrine Yellow, Stealth Black, and Everest White. Colours pair really well with the glossy black trim. Funny story I saw a guy test-driving this yellow Thar, couldn’t stop smiling. That colour has charm. Makes you feel cool, I swear.
Blacked Out Interiors Dark, Sleek, Familiar
Inside, it’s all black. Seats, upholstery everything blacked out. The rest? Same as regular Thar Roxx. Full LED setup, dual 10.25-inch touchscreens, ventilated front seats, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, panoramic sunroof, Harman Kardon 9-speaker system. Comfort and tech, check. Still that Thar rugged vibe though. I remember one test drive a small software glitch popped up. Minor, but reminds you tech isn’t flawless.
Powertrain Same, But Solid
Don’t expect new engines. Rumours said 1.5L diesel might arrive. Nope. Petrol still 2L, 130 kW, 380 Nm torque for AT. Diesel 2.2L, 111.9 kW, 330 Nm torque for RWD. No 4x4 for this edition. Drives smooth, comfy. Decent punch for city and highway. Off-road? Plan accordingly. Reminds me of a muddy track test once fun, tricky. Thar always keeps you on your toes.
Pricing and Options Aggressive and Stylish
Diesel MT ₹16.85 lakh, Diesel Automatic ₹18.35 lakh, Petrol Automatic ₹17.85 lakh (ex-showroom). AX7L base, but pricing feels aggressive. For buyers who care more about looks, style, exclusivity this edition hits the mark. Feels premium, stands out, and doesn’t totally break the bank. That’s the deal.
Is Mahindra Thar Roxx Star Edition Unveiled Bold Blacked-Out Look, Citrine Yellow & Key Upgrades the right direction?
