Mahindra Gears Up for Big SUV Offensive in India – New ICE & EV Models Coming Soon
Mahindra is quietly building a big SUV wave for India. From updated ICE models like Scorpio N and Thar to new EVs on INGLO platform, the brand is clearly preparing for a busy 2026–27 roadmap. Nothing is final yet, but the direction is loud and clear.
Mahindra is quietly but aggressively shaping its SUV future in India. A mix of new ICE models, EV SUVs, and updates for existing nameplates is underway. Test mules are already on roads. Nothing is fully official yet, but the direction is pretty clear now. Big changes coming Slowly, but surely.
Mahindra’s Expanding SUV Strategy for India
So here’s the thing. Mahindra is not just refreshing one or two models. It’s building a full lineup shift. A new sub-4-metre SUV, inspired by the Vision S concept, has been spotted testing multiple times. It will sit above the XUV 3XO and use the NU_IQ monocoque architecture. Sounds technical, yes. But simply put, it’s a smarter, more modern base for future SUVs. And honestly, this is where Mahindra upcoming SUVs India becomes a hot topic. Because this isn’t one car story anymore. It’s a whole product wave coming.
Scorpio N and Thar Set for Mid-Life Updates
Let’s talk about the familiar ones. Scorpio N is getting a facelift. Not a full redesign, but enough changes to feel fresh. Slight tweaks outside, better tech inside. Same engines though 2.0 petrol and 2.2 diesel continue No drama there.
Thar is also in line for updates. And yes, it’s borrowing some visual cues from Thar Roxx. Cabin? More digital stuff, more screens, more modern SUV feel. It’s interesting because Mahindra is not killing the old charm, just polishing it. That’s it. And this ties directly into Mahindra new SUV launches 2026, where updates matter more than reinvention.
Strong Push in the Electric SUV Segment
Now this part feels like a different company altogether. Mahindra’s INGLO-based EV SUVs are already doing numbers. Over 50,000 units sold is not small at all. BE 6 is already out there, and a tougher Rall-E version is in the works. More ground clearance, chunkier tyres, proper go anywhere attitude.
And then there is BE.07 Big one. Expected as the flagship EV SUV, sitting above everything else. Electric mobility is no longer a side project here. It’s becoming the main storyline. That’s why Mahindra EV SUVs India is now something competitors actually worry about.
New Compact and Mid-Size SUVs in Pipeline
Not everything is big and flashy though. There’s also a Vision X-based compact crossover in development. It’s not confirmed yet, but the idea is simple urban SUV, compact size, modern design, easy daily usability.
Alongside that, Mahindra is also pushing models like XUV 7XO, which is basically a more premium take on XUV700. So yeah, one side rugged SUVs other side tech-loaded urban machines. Bit of both worlds. This whole mix clearly fits into Mahindra ICE EV SUVs strategy, where nothing is being left behind.

Future Product Roadmap and Market Direction
If you look at everything together, Mahindra is not rushing launches. It’s building layers. 2026 to 2027 is expected to be busy. Facelifts, new EVs, new compact SUVs, even off-road focused derivatives like BE 6 Rall-E. And possibly more surprises, still hidden under testing camouflage.
The market is watching closely now. Because upcoming Mahindra models 2026 are not just updates they are signals of where the brand is heading next. Not perfect execution everywhere maybe. But the intent? Very clear Mahindra is going all in.
