Let me be straight. When I looked at the Citroen Aircross X Facelift, excitement wasn’t the first emotion. Curiosity was. After spending 10 years around cars, launches, test drives, dealer conversations, and broken promises, you develop a filter. Citroen’s India story has always felt like that big intent, different thinking, but a slightly confused execution.

The Aircross X Facelift was necessary. Even Citroen knew that. The design needed some sharpness, the cabin needed to feel current, and a few obvious gaps had to be filled. But does this facelift actually change the game. As far as I’m concerned, the answer isn’t a clean yes or no.

Design Still French, Now Slightly Easier to Understand

The earlier Aircross often left people puzzled. Different, yes. Confident, not always. With this facelift, Citroen has toned things down. The front looks more assured, the grille and lighting carry a bit more attitude. The side profile remains largely unchanged, which I personally like because it doesn’t pretend to be bulkier than it really is.

But here’s the honest bit. If you walk into the showroom after seeing a Nexon or a Creta, the Aircross X Facelift can feel understated, maybe even too polite. French minimalism still needs explanation in India. The car doesn’t shout. And that’s both its charm and its problem.

Engine and Drive Comfort Remains the Biggest Strength

Mechanically, there’s no revolution here. And honestly, that’s fine. Citroen’s suspension tuning still works brilliantly for Indian roads. Broken tarmac, uneven joints, sudden patches the car stays calm and composed.

But an old experience pops up in my head. Back in 2021, during a long drive from Delhi to Jaipur in a Citroen, the ride was comfortable but overtakes always needed planning. That hesitation still exists in the Aircross X Facelift. For daily driving, the engine does the job. For anyone who enjoys spirited driving, it feels just adequate. Company claims sound confident, but on real roads, the performance feels safe, not exciting.

Cabin and Features Finally Feels Like It Belongs in 2026

The older Aircross cabin always felt unfinished to me. Like work in progress. This facelift fixes some of that. The touchscreen responds better, the interface makes more sense, and the steering controls don’t feel odd anymore.

A small memory comes back here. Last year, I was sitting at a Citroen dealership when a customer bluntly asked why the rear windows weren’t powered. The sales executive went quiet. Moments like that will reduce now. Still, don’t expect jaw dropping features. The feeling is simple the car no longer feels incomplete. Nothing more, nothing less.

Drive gently and you’ll get respectable mileage. Add load, push a little harder, and the numbers slide. This isn’t unusual, but transparency matters. Indian buyers today are far more aware than brands assume.

Brand Trust and After Sales The Real Test

This is where Citroen still has homework to finish. A decent product alone doesn’t build trust. I’ve seen people like the car and then step back after asking about service reach. One customer said it plainly the car is good, but the workshop is too far.

The Aircross X Facelift doesn’t directly fix this concern. It’s a better car, no doubt. But Citroen needs to expand presence with the same seriousness as product development. Otherwise, this will once again remain a choice for enthusiasts and risk-takers only.

So, Is the Aircross X Facelift Worth Considering

My personal verdict is simple. The Aircross X Facelift is a sensible improvement. It feels more mature and more usable than before. But it isn’t a breakthrough.

If comfort is your top priority, you like standing slightly apart from the crowd, and you’re okay taking a calculated risk on the brand, this car won’t disappoint you. But if feature checklists, resale comfort, and nearby service centres matter more, familiar names will still feel safer. And that, right now, remains Citroen’s biggest challenge the story around the brand needs as much work as the car itself.
