Matter Aera 5000+—A Revolutionary Electric Motorcycle
The Matter Aera 5000+ motorcycle is writing a new chapter in the Indian electric bike market. It is not only technologically advanced but also gives a traditional bike-like experience to the riders.
1 Biggest Feature—4-Speed Gearbox
The Aera 5000+ is the first electric bike in the Indian market to be equipped with a 4-speed gearbox (HyperShift). It is reminiscent of a principle injection bike and brings the same thrilling experience to the electric ride.
2 Power, Range and Thermal Management
The bike comes with a 10.5 kW electric motor and a 5 kWh liquid-cooled battery. It gives a range of about 125 km on a single charge.
The liquid cooling system maintains the efficiency and safety of the battery during charging and long rides.
The three riding modes in the Aera 5000+—Eco, City and Sport—change according to your riding style. In Sport mode, this bike crosses 0–60 km/h in just 6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 100+ km/h.
3 Smart Features and Connectivity
This bike has a 7-inch touchscreen TFT display, which provides facilities like navigation, music and calls. Apart from this, advanced connectivity like 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, OTA updates, remote lock/unlock, live location tracking and emergency alerts have been provided.
4 Design, Comfort and Weight
The design of the Aera 5000+ is aggressive and modern—with LED headlamp, split seat and strong frame. The weight is around 168–180 kg, which makes it a bit heavy but the convenient ride position and balanced construction make it balanced.
5 Charging and Warranty
The bike takes about 5–6 hours to fully charge when charged from a normal 5A socket at home. At the same time, with fast charging, 0–80% charge is done in just 1.5–2 hours. The warranty is 3 years/unlimited km.
6 Pricing and availability
The Aera 5000+ is priced at around ₹1.54 lakh (ex-showroom) (with FAME-II subsidy), which puts it at par with petrol bikes like the Yamaha R15, Honda CB300F and more. Deliveries have already begun from the Ahmedabad store, and Matter plans to expand availability across the country soon.
