2025 Volvo XC60 Facelift: A New Experience for India's Auto-Lovers

Introduction

Volvo's best-selling SUV – the XC60, now gets a major facelift in 2025 and is all set to launch in India on August 1, 2025. The starting price is set at around ₹71.90 lakh (Ex-Showroom), which is around ₹1.15 lakh more than the older model.

1. Features Changes (Exterior)

The new diagonal slat grille at the front is inspired by bigger models like the XC90.

There are also subtle changes to the front bumper and air intake design.

The SUV also gets 19‑inch dual‑tone alloy wheels and smoked‑effect LED tail‑lights to give it a fresh look.

Modern shades like Forest Lake, Aurora Silver, and Mulberry Red have also been added to the new colour range — though it is not yet clear if all of these will be available in India.

2. Interior Changes

The SUV now gets a larger 11.2‑inch freestanding touchscreen that runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon Cockpit Platform — offering 21% higher pixel density, faster performance, and OTA updates.

The back-sound system has also been updated — it now gets a 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins high-fidelity audio system.

Features like 4-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, heated ventilated front seats, and massage function are included for unmatched comfort.

Improved sound in the cabin. There are also smaller but significant changes like insulation, upgraded upholstery (Quilted Nordico, Navy Herringbone Weave), new steering box, and wireless charging pad.

3. Engine and Performance

The international market gets a mild‑hybrid 2.0‑litre turbo‑petrol (247–250hp, 360Nm) engine with an 8-speed AT and AWD system. This combination will continue in India as well.

PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid) variants like the T8 Recharge are available internationally (up to 449hp), but the mild‑hybrid model will be the flagship in India for now.

0–100 km/h top speed takes around 6.9 seconds — impressive performance in this segment.

4. Safety and Tech Features

The XC60’s safety is now equipped with Level‑2 ADAS systems (Adaptive Cruise, Lane‑Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitor, etc.).

Also present are a 360‑degree camera, multiple airbags, parking sensors, TPMS, and electronic stability control.

Enhanced sound insulation and optional laminated glass in the cabin also ensure comfortable driving by reducing noise.

5. Competition and Price

The XC60 facelift now offers more technology and convenience than rivals such as the BMW X3, Mercedes‑Benz GLC, and Audi Q5.

Its price of ₹71.90 lakh (ex-showroom) in India makes it around ₹2–3 lakh more premium than the advertised rivals.
